(Company Confidential): Buyer's Journey and Creation of a Central Customer Portal.
The primary objective of this project was to significantly enhance the purchasing experience for customers on the e-commerce platform. This involved:
This project underscored the critical importance of a user-centric approach and a data-driven iterative design process. By prioritizing deep user understanding, leveraging AI algorithms to analyze user behavior, and continuously refining the user experience based on their feedback, we achieved substantial improvements that directly translated into increased customer satisfaction and ultimately, business success.
To begin, we conducted user interviews and utilized affinity mapping to identify recurring pain points. Subsequently, we crafted a user journey map to visualize these pain points throughout the buying process. We also employed data-driven analytics to identify key user engagement patterns. Through brainstorming and iterative wireframing, we developed a new customer portal that effectively addressed these issues. To ensure the efficacy of our design, we continuously tested our wireframes using feedback from representative users and made necessary adjustments along the way.
The outcomes of our endeavors were remarkable. The redesigned customer portal featured a streamlined checkout process, an integrated order tracking feature, improved presentation of product information, enhanced mobile responsiveness, and a user-friendly navigation system. Machine learning algorithms were used to optimize the search recommendation features. These changes had a significant impact, resulting in a noteworthy 25% increase in the conversion rate. User feedback was overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the substantial enhancement in the overall user experience..
A Better Understanding of user Behavior on Beckman Coulter's Website.
AACC laboratory scientific conference takes place every year globally. It brings together the top companies that focus is on medical diagnostics devices and solutions. The conference took place at the San Diego California convention center and hosted 6,000 attendees from around the world.
The team took the opportunity to set up a digital innovation station to introduce customers to the website redesign. At prescheduled times, customers participated in a study that showcased the new sections and provided direct feedback on their experience.
Continued customer feedback was invaluable, as a new website was in production, a prototype was created to capture customer related issues and feedback against the original design. The goal is to pressure test the prototype with MVP (minimum viable content) as we gain customer insights. The test helped to identify key design flaws around search capabilities and the new navigation taxonomy.
Participants were given a series of task-based questions; 2 of which were focused on general feedback as an everyday user utilizing Beckman Coulter's website. The results guided key areas before development at the launch of the site that was scheduled for go-live. During the usability test, we captured user friction points and success rates from over 50 participants. The study also included data logging methods that obtain the user's reaction to the design and proposed functionality.
Making a Better Viewership Experience.
Consumption of movies and TV shows has proven to be a passive experience with huge demands on portals such as Hulu, Amazon Prime, and Netflix. One of these demands is speedy viewership and synopsis of the content. The UI of these applications should be clutter-free and serve up content features that are intuitive to the end-user.
This exercise explored new features to engage users and create a new viewer experience. The new features had to surface the synopsis of movies and provide quick view features.
Identifying the sign-in process was the first step to identify what were the user's pain points. An assumptive user profile was used to create a step by step walkthrough, from the sign up to serving up content. Upon completion of the assumptive analysis, validations were conducted through focus groups and surveys.
A new UI with easy to view features was created to reduce the click-through process. Easy to preview features were proposed for quick views on hover NOT click. Movies were served up based on user preference. When the user selected with a TV remote or a mouse-over on a computer, an auto-play video trailer would appear.
Empowering Users: Blending AI and User Experience for Optimal Results.
Beckman Coulter, a global leader in clinical diagnostics, faced the challenge of providing its customers with efficient access to a vast and diverse repository of information. Customers struggled to navigate disparate data sources, leading to time-consuming searches and frustration.
The existing search functionality lacked the ability to accurately interpret user intent, resulting in irrelevant results and increased search times. This negatively impacted customer productivity and satisfaction.
We embarked on a user-centric redesign, beginning with extensive Voice of the Customer (VOC) research to pinpoint key pain points. This informed the development of sophisticated AI algorithms, designed to interpret complex search queries and anticipate user intent. To ensure comprehensive access, all data sources, from product specifications to technical documents, were integrated into a unified search index.
A streamlined, intuitive user interface, featuring category tabs and advanced filtering, was crafted to simplify navigation.
Key Process Elements:
The implemented solution features AI-driven search, offering highly relevant results by understanding complex user intent. A 50% increase in click-through rates demonstrates the solution's success in delivering relevant information. It provides unified access to all Beckman Coulter's resources and advanced filtering options for precise results. Intuitive category tabs and personalized recommendations further enhance the user experience, leading to a significant increase in search efficiency.
(Company Confidential): TV Ads Overlay Campaign UI
TV is the highest ad spending medium in the US. TV provides the largest reach for affluent adults and is regarded among the most effective by luxury brands. However, despite all the advances in the way viewers can consume broadcast TV content; little has changed in the way ads are delivered to consumers through TV broadcast. Typically TV ads imprint on our memory the value of a brand or quality of a product so that at a later time these memories influence our searches and decisions about products and services we consume. Advertisers have little resources to effectively measure the return on investment and learn more about the actual audience for broadcast ads.
Wireframes were created outlining the steps to upload and submit a campaign for review. When a user selected a "New Campaign" in the campaign management tool, the tool displayed features to upload videos and embed a unique tracking ID. The user also could select an overlay template to be displayed on their TV during a select time.
The first generation application created was a simple to navigate tool and provided the ability to capture video and budgetary data required to run a user-friendly overlay campaign. There is currently no direct link between seeing an ad on TV and purchasing the promoted product or service. These interactions were user-initiated and did not disrupt the user's passive viewing experience.
I would welcome the opportunity to discuss my qualifications in further detail if we can establish mutual interest. Thank you for your consideration
